Types of Custom Embroidery

T-Shirt Charity offers three types of custom embroidery.

The first type of custom embroidery we offer is standard or basic flat embroidery. This style is most commonly used on shirts and custom embroidered caps. With basic embroidery the embroidery machine will simply sew out the design that our customer has requested.

The second type of embroidery that we offer is 3D embroidery. Custom 3D embroidery is the most popular on baseball caps and headwear. 3D embroidery give the design a raised look and 3D effect. This is how most major league baseball hats are decorated. The raised look of this design make the logo look more dramatic and high end. Custom 3D embroidery is done by placing a piece of foam padding below the embroidery and the design is then stitched over the foam padding. The embroideryneedle perforatesthe foam and the excess material is pulled off and discarded. 3d Embroidery uses more materials and the setup and sewing time are longer so customers should expect to pay slightly more for this type of embroidery.

The third type of embroidery we offer is applique. Applique embroidery is where a piece of fabric is sewn onto a garment. This is how most professional sports teams jerseys are decorated. This type of custom embroidery also is more time consuming and laborintensive then basic embroidery and will cost more.
